The Department of Special Education at SFSU offers post-baccalaureate programs leading to the following credentials:
- Preliminary Education Specialist Instruction Credentials
- Clear Education Specialist Instruction Credential
- Clinical or Rehabilitative Services Credential (CRS) specializing in Orientation and Mobility (O&M)
- Speech and Language Pathology Services Credential (SLPSC)
Programs in teacher preparation for the Education Specialist Credentials, Clinical or Rehabilitative Resource Services (CRS), and Speech and Language Pathology Services Credential (SLPSC) are approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). Programs are organized via a two-tiered system: The Preliminary Education Specialist and the Clear. Each level is based on California teaching standards with unique requirements for preliminary and professional certification.
